Danielle Preston is a Washington DC based costume designer working in theater, opera, and dance. She has been so grateful for the opportunity to explore characters through the vehicle of clothing and while creating a focus on the human experience.
Danielle holds a MFA degree in Costume Design from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Professional fellowships include Kenan Costume Fellow for the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts and A.J. Fletcher Opera Institute Fellowship in Costume Design. Preston also works as a costume coordinator at the Washington National Opera.
Danielle was listed on DC Metro Theater Arts 2018 Staff Favorites: Outstanding Design Elements for her design for Long Way Down at the Kennedy Center.
Member: United Scenic Artists Local 829, Costume Society of America, and The Costume Society UK.
